My passion for painting portraits comes from seeing my subject in a deeper way. I love to capture the spirit of who I’m painting – whether that be a historical figure, a playful child, or a powerful horse gazing back at me.

One of the most significant parts of the process for me is photographing my subjects before I paint them – it’s important for me to find the image that speaks to me. Making bold life size paintings enables me to make work that immerses the viewer into the painting as if they were face to face with the subject. My hope is that these paintings spark a moment of reflection and appreciation of the beauty all around us.

I have my Studio Art degree from Wheaton College and now live in Redding California with my brilliant husband Jack and two beautiful girls Abigail and Eloise.
